I'm Giselle Manzano Ramírez, a Colombian interdisciplinary artist, cultural worker, and designer based in the Hudson Valley, New York. My work spans experimental textiles, fashion design, graphic design, cultural production, and education, unified by a belief in creativity as a tool for healing, transformation, and connection.
As Founder and Executive Director of KRATER, I lead a nonprofit cultural platform that has supported 30+ queer, BIPOC, women-identifying, and Latinx/é designers and artists from 10+ countries through free access during New York Fashion Week. KRATER transforms culture through the intersection of fashion, performance art, and music, creating inclusive platforms for emerging artists.
As Director of Communications & Community Engagement at Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, I am the first Latina immigrant in director-level leadership, developing inaugural cultural programming and building intersectional sanctuary for historically excluded communities.
Through my creative studio OBRA, I explore transgenerational healing and collective memory through experimental textiles, rust printing, controlled burning, and wearable sculpture. I teach sustainable textile design on Domestika, where thousands of students worldwide learn experimental techniques for upcycling and transformation.
In graphic design, I craft visual identities that amplify voices and support cultural movements. My work has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, PAPER Magazine, Harvard Divinity School, and Creative Boom.
As an educator, I create dynamic learning environments through workshops in art, design, textiles, and languages, exploring creativity as a pathway to transformation and collective healing.
I collaborate with organizations, artists, and institutions committed to cultural transformation and creative healing. Let's create together.
